YOUR FIRST VISIT

First, we will take full records of your teeth which will include x-rays and pictures. Next you will be able to sit down with Dr. Jan to go over what type of treatment you will need and get all of your questions answered. We will also look up how much of your treatment will be covered by your insurance company.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH BRACES

When you come into the office on the day that you get your braces our friendly staff will explain the whole process to you so that you are not wondering what is going to happen next. You won’t feel any pain while we put the braces on but a few hours later you may get a little sore. You can test the feeling by using your finger to push your front teeth backwards and slowly increase the pressure until you feel some pain. This will last for about 3-4 days on average. Your cheeks may get a little irritated from the brackets but we will give you wax to help ease the irritation. You will want to stay away from sticky foods such as caramel, chewing gum, and taffy; as well as, biting into hard foods like apples, corn on the cob, even bagels.
